The management of the state-owned distribution system operators (DSOs) of the Ukrainian Distribution Grids Group (UDG) met with Philippe Piron, CEO of Electrification Systems, GE Vernova, and a number of technical specialists at CIGRE Paris Session 2024 in Paris.
The Ukrainian side was represented at the meeting by the heads of four state-owned distribution system operators: Cherkasyoblenergo, Kharkivoblenergo, Mykolaivoblenergo and Ternopiloblenergo.
Philippe Piron expressed GE Vernova’s interest in continuing to cooperateion and developement of joint projects in Ukraine. In his speech, the CEO of GE Vernova’s Electrification Systems business mentioned referred to the technical aid that the company has been providing to Ukraine since 2022 and expressed confidence that this support will continue in the future.
For its part, the Ukrainian side expressed interest in the solutions for mobile substations manufactured by GE Vernova, as well as switchgear and substation automation.
The meeting also covered cooperation in the modernization of distribution networks, including the development of digital twins of the grids, development of microgrids, and the use of digital solutions for business process automation.
